The Apparition

Once upon a day so dreary

Outside my window a storm raged so clearly

As I stared into the torrent

An apparition appeared to inflict torment

In its wispy tone it spoke

‘Always less, never more’

I was scared, quite abhorred

In its eyes was black, nothing more

The unending void calls forever more

My chest lost all fire

Erased of most desires

My heart will forever beat hollow

As I remain in sorrow

This curse I now must bear

'Tis something that may never be shared

All the rest and their gods

Shine a light so bright

That the void remains out of sight
